North Reavers is a Collectible Card Game made by 4 GD. It was our very first school project and the constraint was to have as main mechanics a placement mechanic.
The concept is as follows:
Each player has a game board of 3 rows in front of them, and their objectives are to advance their fighters to the next most prominent rank. To move their fighters, players will have to summon them on the 1st row and then in each turn, if they wish, move all of their fighters one row forward on the board. If a fighter exceeds their 3rd row, they are directly discarded.
To summon a fighter, you must use the 3 runes available at each turn as well as those on the back of your discarded fighting cards.
To eliminate an opposing fighter, your fighters must be positioned at the right distance and have enough attack.
To win, you must reach 3 domination points, and to earn a domination point, you must complete a round with at least one fighter in your 3rd row (the ‘Village’) without the opponent having any fighters on their own.
